The San Antonio Zoo is home to over 3,500 animals representing 600 species of animals on 56 acres. More than 1,000,000 guests visit the San Antonio Zoo annually

On April 24th a small party of 6 adults and 3 children left Austin, Texas after a very late breakfast. They traveled South and after 90 minutes arrived in San Antonio. After some round about driving we were able to find the Zoo. The pricing was VERY affordable at $10 for adults and $8 for children. I would think that we’ll be getting a year membership very soon.

I found the Zoo to be VERY heavy on the bird and reptile spectrum of animals. At times I thought that we were at the Bird Zoo. However, sporadically spaced through out the Zoo were cute faces and even some mamals.

Some of the rather large reptiles were very photo-gentic and didn’t mind at all that thousands of people were taking their pictures.

Many of the animals almost appeared to enjoy their micro habitats and would smile and put on a good show for the humans.

Though many were photogentic, some were just plain on the side of ugly, or trying to blend in.

In the end it was a great trip and we all had lots of fun. The kids were worn out and so were the adults.

The Zoo is open from 9am to 5pm 365 days a year and comes with our VERY, VERY big recommendation.
