Yesterday was Mother's Day... a day in which we all thank and take an extra minute to love our Mothers or wifes who are mothers. I just wanted to post and say how much I love Christine and too say what a great job she is doing at being a mother. It's not easy and by no means to the kids make it easy.. and by no means do I make it easy at times.. but she manages to do it, and do it very well.
Christine, my love.

So Christine had me pull some pictures she had on her camera.. Well these pics were from both Mothers day 2005 and from Feb 2006 when her and I were in Florida. I found this really cool pic on there that I had taken of the giant booty!! the mascot lobster at the eatery we stopped at. Enjoy!

Christine got a new stroller for the kids yesterday. The "FisherPrice Stand 'n Ride Duo Stroller". She is in love with it right now as she is probably going all around town with it today trying it out.
As you can see it even fits in to the car!! which is an added bonus as we were having a hell-of-a-time trying to find a double stroller both kids could use that would fit into the car.
You may even notice the sweet price on it.. 99 dollars.. apparently this stoller retailed for like 250 at Babys R Us and up to 150 on Ebay.
We bought two of them, and have the other up for auction =)
I'll have some pictures of the kids enjoying it soon enough!Labels: Christine

So it's 10pm PST and from what we can tell Christine has been in labor for about 20 hours. They have mostly been small, cramps, coming at about 1 an hour, which have slowly sped up and are now at about 1 every 20 minutes or so. We are still a good few hours away from leaving for the hospital. Maybe another 6 hours or so.

Weekend update:
Christine is home, I've wrote some thoughts down on my Palm that I'll have up on monday but I'll recap for those who are out there. She is doing fine, we are doing fine and most importantly the baby is doing fine. The doctors believe she may have 1 adhesion and 1 operative herneai which is causing all the pain. We'll meet with the high risk OB this week to find out what that means. We've been told that the baby is perfectly safe and both of these are not really life threating so we are both happy about that.
The next few months however, will be about pain management and making sure Christine is in as little as possible. She'll be going for disablity this week as she wont be going back to work after this.
Talk soon!Labels: Christine

Quick Update:
Christine is still up at UCSF for another night, tests are so far good, but they are having trouble identifying the exact cause.
I'm headed up there in the next 30 minutes to spend some time with her.
On a side note, I LOVE the new virus attempts via the jpg picture attachments. Some of them come with such colorful poems. Here's one I got today!
out to add collect, his; voice became an appendage, Anacreonian navy as outward, palms down sunside. And in my Libwawy totally over.
You just have to love that, I predict this type of stuff will be "claissic" in 1000 years.. hehe

Its been a long weekend but we believe that we've found someone up at UCSF to see Christine. We go up there on Thursday, but the other day we took a drive up there to see the Hospital. It was a long drive, almost 40 minutes with traffic, but the Hospital is huge and its full of specialists so we are both excited.
As well, Christine will be on my insurance tomorrow so at least the cost for all this will be much more manageable.Labels: Christine

So Christine has not been feeling well these last few days. Abdominal pain, back pain and nausea have been our friends these last few weeks. These are all classic symptoms of a UTI and that is what all the doctors and us have been going off of. However, the other night was particularly bad, and once again the doctors were clueless to find a cause as the UTI diagnosis has turned up negative time and time again.
I?ve had a running theory about the cause myself, but have only just now had one of the doctors come to the same conclusion. It actually has a name, ?Adhesion!? For some time I?ve been thinking the pain is surgical, and related to her recent appendix removal and the healing process. So what is adhesion? Apparently as high as 89 % of post op patients can get this, though nobody has ever heard of it, and the symptoms almost match that to a UTI. However, adhesion is a whole different beast to treat and we?ll be looking at talking to some other doctors who may have some experience with it over the next couple of days. The exciting part about this is that now that we have a possible cause, we can actually look for an active solution. You can?t imagine how frustrating it is to see someone you love in discomfort and not have any solution to help, both personally and from professionals.
At least now I can focus on something tangible now, and its time to kick some doc butt!Labels: Christine

FUCK FUCK FUCK!!
I totally screwed up today :\ I was supposed to meet Christine for her OB appointment at 11:15am but spaced it bad. I hadn't set up any reminders and before I realized it, 11:05am was here already..
She souned pissed! and I can't blame her. I dropped the ball on this horribly. Unfortunately, apologizing doesn't seem to work as well as it does in movies and stories. I'll have to make it up to her (if she'll allow me to even get close enough to see her)
Christine if you're reading this... please accept my apology, I messed up, and I know I did and I'm sorry and will make sure this never happens again.Labels: Christine
